New players will, of course, need to beat the campaign, and can focus on levelling alongside completing main quests, but those returning for Season 1 should follow the points listed below: To level optimally from level 1-50 in Diablo 4 Season 1, you should have already beat the campaign on an Eternal Realm (anything made before the launch of Season 1) character. This is the point I want to reach on my character. I can see other player in torment XVI bounty runs that just carve through everything effortlessly like its torment 10, and I'm sure these same players are able to comfily do GR90s in their sleep in 3-4 minutes.

When it comes to torment XVI bounties I can pull my weight, but it requires a lot of concentration because I can still die quite easily. Beyond that the other thing I could think of to improve my character would be augments which I'm sure would add a huge amount of damage, but wouldn't help at all with my survivability issues (which is the main thing hindering my ability to complete higher rifts), and as I stand the highest gems I could get for augments would be level 80 gems at the most which feels awkward since the resources I've found recommended minimum level 100 gems when you get to the augment stage of gearing.įinally as an example of where I'd like my ideal power level to be. Actual upgrades become significantly harder to find (must be ancient, must roll highly on the right modifiers, etc.) and I get to that awkward point where I know I can do higher rift levels but it doesn't feel efficient to farm them because they take longer, while the lower rifts I can bang out in 3-4 minutes don't feel as rewarding loot wise from the higher rifts I'm used to. Once I get to this point I basically feel at a loss for how to further progress my character and get over this big progression wall and continue enjoying the season. After a while though things will slow down and eventually I will hit a point (usually around the GR90) where I can't realistically progress usually as a result of I am dying too quickly and too often because the enemies as rift levels increase become too much to handle. I will pick a class and acquire a starter set and being the progression, ultimately leading up to a build that I'm pretty happy with and can comfortably storm through rifts. I have played diablo 3 quite a great deal over a handful of seasons and it seems like every time I have a very similar story.
